The island of Rømø is located only three kilometers north of the German island of Sylt, which makes Rømø to Danmark’s southernmost North Sea Island. An almost ten-kilometer long Embankment linking the mainland with Rømø. Almost 600 people live on the island, and it is nearly 18 kilometers long and nearly 6 km wide.

Northern Europe’s widest sandy beaches in Lakolk and Sønderstrand, is the most famous sights on the dunes and heathland rich holiday island - in the daytime must be driving on the beach of Lakolk by car or motorhome, while South Beach is reserved Beschsailors and Kiters.

The largest city on the island is Havneby in the south, and hometown to the Ferry for Rømø-Sylt. Wadden Sea around Rømø has since 2014 been part of the UNESCO world natural heritage.

Sandskaer Strandcamping is a family friendly campsite, situated in the countryside by the beach and a forest. There are sea views from most campsites and good facilities for young and old alike. On the site, there are modern facilities and rental of cabins and apartments.

Campsite right by the beach in Genner Bay with cabin rental and the possibility of renting a caravan. On the square there are, among other things, canoe rental and good opportunities for cycling and hiking experiences on the coast.
